Winter / 1st quarter 2026
Per our Bylaws, MiGO must have an annual membership meeting once per year.  We hold that meeting via ZOOM

Date: January 11, 2026
Time: 2:00 PM

Meeting ID: 872 6847 9493
Passcode: 168650
Luge Event

Have you ever wanted to try to LUGE? Here is your chance on February 12, 6:30pm. If you sign up online, you can reserve one of maybe 25 spots. The reservations are not limited to geocachers so when they are gone, then you can only come to watch. All gear is provided. You get a little class too. Note that when the Olympics start, then I would suspect more people will want to do this. Sign up early. See if you can be faster than the host!

Regional Event Proposal

The MiGO EC is working with the in-state regional RVPs to host MiGO Meet and Greet events throughout the state.  Our goal?  12 events in 4 regions for 2026.  Will we meet our goal?  Time will tell, but we plan to work toward this.

Meet EC members, RVPs,  fellow cachers and others. Bring a Non Migo Member cacher and get a ticket for a raffle drawing.  Non-members get an opportunity for a prize too. Great way to answer questions and become an MiGo Member.

The January event will be in Southeast and will publish soon.  GCBH6B3

Challenge of Challenges

Coming up in January the Challenge Committee is soliciting your ideas for future challenges. This can be done via Facebook or with a form on the MiGO website. Tell us what challenges you'd like to see and if your idea is selected you'll win a prize. Multiple ideas? No problem. Multiple winners? It could happen so let's hear from you. (note that we are looking for fully executable ideas.  You need to do more than make a suggestion)

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The committee will take a break in Jan/Feb as we prepare for Winter Social.

After Winter Social, the committee will do a redux of the Zip Code challenge.

To join the committee (we always need fresh ideas) shoot us a message.

 GEOART

Are you aware that Michigan has over 50 GeoArt cache trails?  GeoArt is a group of mystery caches with generally easily solvable puzzles, that when completed the create a smiley frame the appears on your map as a specific design or letter/words.

Michigan County Grid Challenge

A really BIG Challenge for everyone!  This is not a contest.  Everyone can qualify for a reward, not to mention bragging rights!
The challenge is a multi-year commitment by the MiGO Challenge Committee, EC and Board.  Can you cover half of the state (Bronze), three quarters of the state (Silver) or the entire state, (Gold), finding an assortment of geocache types in 42, 63 or 83 counties.  Who will top the leaderboard out of the gate?  Who will be the first to claim a prize?  Who will be first to reach for the Gold?

MiGO's goal is to promote the sport of geocaching, an appreciation of the outdoors, and good environmental stewardship, through cooperative efforts with Michigan geocachers and land management officials.

MiGO encourages members to submit articles for our newsletter.  Submissions should be related to caching or the MiGO community and can include write ups on specific caches or events, a story about a caching experience, a tribute to another cacher, past or present, a write up about your trip to a past Mega or even caching tips.
